Sabah Quake – How can you contribute


Earthquake of magnitude 6.0 struck Ranau, Sabah on 5 June 2015.  The earthquake was the strongest to affect Malaysia since 1976. Many of us are saddened by the news of affected victims. Many of us ask how can we help? Here are ways you can contribute .


1) Donate to the affected victims

Robbi is one of the mountain guide attached with Amazing Borneo. He lost his life trying to protect the climbers. Amazing Borneo currently running a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds for Robbi and his family members.

Contribute to the Mountain Guides. The mountain guides risk their life to save the lives of trapped victims at the peak of Mount Kinabalu. Now they will be jobless while waiting for the tracks to be restored. We can help ease the financial burden their families will face through donations to their Association

2) Attend Candlelight vigil at old welfare building

3) Stop sharing photos of victims’s dead body

While social media is a powerful tools to share to plight of affected victims of Sabah Quake. We should be more sensitives and avoid sharing photos with photos of the victims body.
