Sandakan Tourism Association (STAN) organised the Sandakan Festival with the theme “Colours of Sandakan” at Harbour Square Piazza from June 11–14.

Hotel and restaurant operators joined in the food bazaar and cooking demonstrations.
Colours of Sandakan showcased exciting traditional handicraft bazaar and well-choreographed Sabah cultural dance performances from the east coast.
The main objective of the event is to showcase and create awareness on Sandakan’s rich cultural heritage to locals and visitors. Among the activities that will be held are Silat Demonstration and Cultural Performance, Handicraft showcase, Local Cuisine, and Tour and Travel exhibition.
